Copying Surveys between Workspaces
- Updated
If you are a member of multiple workspaces, you can use the MyDataHelps survey library to easily re-use surveys between them. The following instructions explain how to copy a survey from workspace A to workspace B.
- Create the survey in workspace A.
-
Share the survey in the MyDataHelps Survey Library.
Switch to workspace B. - Import the survey. You can give it a new name or use the same name in both workspaces.
After you copy the survey, the two copies exist independently. Changing the survey in one workspace will not affect the other workspace's copy.
If you do not wish to share the survey in the public survey library, you can also copy a survey using the advanced Raw Template Editor.
- Create the survey in workspace A.
- Select "Edit Raw Template."
- Copy and paste the contents of the survey and select the "X" to close the raw view.
- Switch to workspace B.
- Create a new survey. You can give it a new name or use the same name in both workspaces.
- Select "Edit Raw Template."
- Paste the raw contents from the first survey and select "Done."
Many office applications like Word, PowerPoint, G Docs, and G Slides will automatically convert straight quotation marks into curly quotation marks (also known as "smart quotes", or typographer's marks). These smart quotes will cause errors when you try to import a survey's outputted JSON into another project.
If this happens, you can search and replace the smart quotes with straight quotes; you can also disable smart quotes in your office application(s).
