Registering with MyDataHelps

When a participant first downloads the MyDataHelps app, they will need to register an account or register for a project using a code, email, or phone number.
- To register for an account, they will need to open MyDataHelps and click "Get Started."
- To participate in a specific project, they will need to select "Register with Code/Email/Phone". They will be prompted to scan a QR code, enter a project code, or enter their email or phone number.
Participants can skip directly to account creation at any point in the account registration process. The Home tab also allows participants to connect to health providers or devices after account creation.
After selecting "Get Started," participants will learn about using MyDataHelps to maintain all of their health information in one place, as well as participate in research. The MyDataHelps Privacy Policy is a also available to read. Upon selecting "Continue," participants will be prompted to connect to their electronic health records via their provider or health plan. Participants can skip health provider or health plan connection during the account registration process.
If participants choose to connect to their electronic health records at this time, they can search for their health plan or provider.
After a participant has connected to their electronic health records or selected to skip, they will be directed to create an account.
After registration, participants will then have to agree to the MyDataHelps Privacy Policy so they understand how their data will be used. Next they will be encouraged to enable notifications.
MyDataHelps will send new participants an email to verify their email address. If they don't receive the email, they can click the "Verify your email address" button to resend it.
Participants will not see project invitations sent via email until they have verified their email address. They may still enroll in public projects and join projects using a scan code even without verifying their email.
After registration, participants can enroll in projects.
