Electronic Health Record (EHR) Export Overview
- Updated
The electronic health records (EHR) export contains records obtained from a participant’s healthcare provider(s). This data is only available when you have enabled EHR data capture and the participant has agreed to share their records. Supported resources, along with the field names and descriptions, are available in the FHIR Interface Documentation.
EHR export files tend to contain a fair amount of data, typically around 5MB of uncompressed data per participant.
To enable the data export for EHR data, check the JSON box for “FhirBulk” (Project > Export Settings tab) and click Save. Each resource will have its own export file. A “ParticipantIdentifiersMapping” CSV will also be included as a file, which captures:
- ParticipantIdentifier: The participant’s study ID
- ParticipantID: The stable, automatically generated, internal system identifier for a participant.
- FhirPatientID: The ID used within the EHR exported resources
- ProviderName: Name of the resource provider
