Participant Withdrawal

If a participant requests to withdraw from your project, you can accomplish this with the following steps:
- Navigate to the Participants tab
- Click on the participant's record
- Click the "Withdraw Participant" button
- Click "Withdraw Participant"
If you do not see the "Withdraw Participant" button, you may not have access to this feature for your project. Check with your project coordinator to ensure you are part of a team which has withdrawal permissions.
Once withdrawn, their participant record will indicate their status in both the segment view and when you click on their record.
You may wish to include a coordinator survey as part of the withdrawal process to collect any relevant information from the participant before you complete the steps above to withdraw them.
Once you withdraw a participant, it cannot be undone. Once withdrawn, the participant will no longer:
- Be able to view or interact with the project
- Receive surveys or notifications
The project will retain access to previously submitted survey data, as well as participant information; however, the project will immediately lose access to the participant's sensor and EHR data. Any data that was previously exported before the withdrawal will also remain available in Export Explorer.
